Put the pieces on the table
You built a business. Acquired property. Opened accounts. Made agreements. Each decision made sense when you made it. The question now is whether those pieces work together.
We begin by identifying the assets, the existing ownership, the obligations, and the people involved. You cannot coordinate an estate you have not first mapped.
Understand who does what
Attorneys review the legal structure and the legal work within their engagement. Our strategists coach activation and help you work through the asset inventory and documentation process, coordinating with the appropriate professionals. The accounting team brings the activity into the books and filings.
Bills of sale, assignments, deeds, notes, and ledgers each have a job. Which documents apply, and how a transfer should be completed, depends on the asset and the professional review. A folder full of forms does not answer those questions for you.
The trustee has to show up
If you take on the trustee role, you need to understand the instrument, the decisions you are authorized to make, and the records that belong behind them. That is why the curriculum is part of the engagement.
You learn where to find the governing documents, how to organize activity for the accounting team, and when a question needs legal review. You bring the actual questions from your estate into an ongoing relationship.
The aim is a structure you can operate with a team standing beside you. The signatures open the work. Literacy and follow-through carry it forward.
BRING IT TO THE TABLE
A question for your estate.
Could you explain who owns each asset and who is responsible for the next decision?
